The Big Dig Archaeology Education Centre is part of Sydney Harbour YHA in The Rocks heritage precinct of Sydney.
The centre facilitates hands-on archaeology educational experiences and opens the archaeological site to the public.
Stage 2 students from OLOL went to The Big Dig earlier this week and worked as archaeologists to excavate artefacts from the simulated archaeological dig, then used their investigative skills to discover what life was really like for the convicts and early settlers who lived in The Rocks during the 1800s.

Following our Grandparents Day Mass, our grandparents joined us in the classrooms to share in our learning and enjoy a range of fun activities with their grandchildren. The celebrations continued with a beautiful picnic lunch, where families enjoyed spending time together and sharing some delicious treats. Thank you to our wonderful grandparents for the love, care and support you give each day. We are so grateful for all that you do. Wishing you all a very Happy Grandparents Day!24 Jul 2026
