Dance students impressed the crowd with a range of dazzling performances
Hundreds of students from 35 primary and secondary Catholic schools from across the Diocese showcased their creative talents in a series of music, dance and strings performances throughout June, culminating in the ‘Best Of’ performance on 23 June.
The showcase events demonstrated the high calibre of choral, music and dance work from Catholic schools, under the Parramatta Diocese’s creative and performing arts initiative, CAPTIVATE.
The program provides learning and performance experiences for students, as well as builds expertise and a sense of community across the system.
CAPTIVATE is very popular with five new schools joining the program since last year.

๐งฅ๐ Sweater for the Better Mufti Day ๐๐งฅ Thank you to our wonderful OLOL community for your generosity and support of our Sweater for the Better Mufti Day as part of the Vinnies Winter Appeal. Students proudly wore their favourite sweaters and donated food items, which have been used to create snack packs for people experiencing homelessness in our local community. Throughout the day, students also participated in a prayer reflection where they created thoughtful cards and messages of hope to be included in the snack packs. This was a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the importance of kindness, compassion and caring for others. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity shown by our students and families. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those who need it most. ๐03 Jun 2026

โ๏ธ OLOL Vinnies Winter Sleepout โ๏ธ On Monday 1st June, our Year 5 and Year 6 students participated in the OLOL Vinnies Winter Sleepout, a meaningful experience that raised awareness of homelessness and the importance of supporting those in need. Students heard from a special guest speaker from Vinnies, packed snack packs for members of the community, and took part in a brief "sleep rough" experience to deepen their understanding of the challenges faced by others. We are incredibly proud of the empathy, compassion and commitment to service shown by our students throughout the evening. Thank you to our families, staff and Vinnies representatives for supporting this valuable faith-in-action opportunity. ๐
