2022 Musica Viva!

Last Tuesday the 21st of June the students enjoyed a performance called "Music in My Suitcase" from the Mara! Band from the company Musica Viva. It was an amazing performance and experience for the students to see live music, learn about other cultures and languages and learn about different instruments, all while singing catchy songs! Special congratulations to Ariana in Year 2 and Natasha in Year 5 for being brave enough to teach Mara how to count to 5 in their cultural languages of Nepalese and Hindi, which she then performed as part of their song, "Bir Mumdur" which the students learnt in Creative Arts lessons before the performance. The students all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and lots of fun was had by all!

2022 Rainbow Day St Vincent de Paul Fundraiser

This term the Faith In Action Team created an initiative called ‘Rainbow Day’. Students dressed as different colours of the rainbow, each colour corresponded with a faithful action they had to complete. Students did a great job at living their faith and acting like Jesus. This day also raised funds for the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. This is important to support people living in homelessness, particularly now that the weather is getting chilly. Thanks to your donations, Our Lady of Lourdes was able to raise a massive $670.00! Thank you parents, carers, teachers and students for getting involved and making a real difference!

2022 Lego We Do Kits Stage 1

Year 1 and 2 have been learning about Living Things during our Science unit this term. We have been exploring how living things change and grow, and have used life cycles to represent this. Using this knowledge, we modelled the life cycle of a frog over its different stages of life using the Lego WeDo kits. First we made the tadpole, then changed it to a froglet by adding the back legs. We were able to code the froglet to move using the Lego WeDo app. Then we had to think how we could change it to the next stage of a frog, many students were able to add the front legs and remove the tail to show these changes. How amazing to see the students using technology skills for their learning!
