May 15 has been designated by the United Nations as International Family Day. Bishop Vincent has declared this day (or another day suitable to the local context) as a day of awareness and fundraising for CatholicCare, the organisation in our diocese which offers many services in support of families.
Each school has been asked to engage in prayer and hold a fundraiser connected with International Family Day with the proceeds going to CatholicCare. At OLOL we decided to hold a Liturgy on Monday May 14 at 8.40 am in the school hall. We also held a ‘Family Day Mufti Day’ on Friday May 18. On this day the children were asked to dress up as a member of their family and donate a gold coin towards the event.
Thank you to everyone who supported Bishop Vincent’s International Family Day fundraiser. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to showcase a family member and we were able to raise $416.50. A wonderful effort from everyone.

🐑💚 What a wonderful day out! Our students had a fantastic time at the 'Where Is the Green Sheep?' performance on Friday. It was a fun-filled experience, with plenty of laughter, smiles and beautiful moments to enjoy! Our children represented Our Lady Of Lourdes, so beautifully throughout the excursion. 🌿 Stage 2 Excursion to The Field of Mars Reserve! 🌿 Our Stage 2 students had a fantastic day at The Field of Mars Reserve, developing their resilience, cooperation and teamwork skills through a range of exciting challenges! Students tackled three activities: Predator vs Prey, where they built shelters and used water shooters; a blindfolded bushwalk; and orienteering. To top off a wonderful day, two cheeky kookaburras even joined us for lunch! 🐦 It was wonderful to see our students encouraging one another, persevering through challenges and having lots of fun along the way. What a great day of learning and adventure! 🌿
